 APPROVED OPERATORS / D.P.s

OPERATORS AND D.P.s QUALIFIED ON THE GYRON FS
The Gyron FS is the most versatile gyrostabilized gimbal system ever designed. It is much more reliable, and with stabilized steerable roll and an Arri 435 in it's heart, has more creative control than any other system. Operators who have worked successfully with any of the other gimbal systems will achieve even better results with the Gyron FS.

We are presenting this list of approved Operators / DP's as a method of assuring a very high standard. We will continue to provide hands-on exposure and training for potential quality additions to the list. We do expect, over time, to expand this list accordingly.

 PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Beth Miles 626.584.8722
Bob Nettmann and Wolfe Air introduce the Gyron FS, an aerial version of the STAB-C.

The Gyron FS is the film version of the long proven Gyron aerial camera system. The Gyron is unique among gyrostabilized camera systems in that it does not use high mass spinning gyros for stabilization. It is a double gimbal where the inner gimbal is stabilized by a mag-lev type system. In this "no moving parts version the stabilizing force is applied magnetically to the perimeter of the gimbal thereby maximizing its effect. Because of this, stability is very high and power consumption is exceptionally low, around 3 amperes in standby and only 15 amps under the most demanding conditions. This compares very favorably to other gyro systems where the power demands may go as high a 50 amps. Another benefit of this stabilization method is silence. The only sound the Gyron FS makes is that of the camera running. Even the vertical reference gyro is solid state and because there are no spinning mass gyros there is no need for complex algorithms that must be run on digital computers. The Gyron FS is a completely analog system with great reliability and resistance to RF and electrical interference that plague digital systems.

The Gyron FS has a full 360 degree pan, tilt from 88 degrees down to 60 degrees up, and active horizon roll of 60 degrees that can be used in conjunction with all other functions; pan, tilt, and zoom. Pan and tilt rates are adjustable up to 120 degrees per second. Unique to the Gyron FS is that pan, tilt, and roll all keep the camera lens on axis.

The Gyron FS normally comes supplied with an Arri 435 ES camera with an Angenieux HR 10:1 zoom lens but will accept nearly any other lens (Panavision included) without changing the system balance. Lens changes are a matter of only a few minutes as they are on ground based camera systems. And all the functions of the 435 ES; rapid shutter and speed change, speed-aperture controller using shutter angle control, flicker-free high resolution video tap and 1,000 foot electrically driven magazines are included with the package. The Gyron will also accept: VistaVision, Iwerks 8 perf, and IMAX format 15 perf cameras and is High Definition Television compatible. Panaflex and Arri 535 cameras can be used for crane and some camera car applications but are not recommended for aerial use since their movements are rubber mounted and cannot be fully stabilized.

The Gyron FS has already been used on several features including; Band of Brothers, Men of Honor, D'Artangan, Chocolat, Bourne Identity, and numerous commercials.

The Gyron FS can be used on a variety of helicopters, camera cars, cranes, and cable rigs. The Gyron FS is available now.
